Ford motor company is the American giant of the automobile industry and a multinational corporation. The headquarters are based in Michigan, Detroit and the business there revolutionized the area.
Ford is famous for introducing the methods of large-scale manufacturing and creating the production line workforce for the engineering sector. His work was typical of the assembly line and became known around the world as “Fordism”.
As of 2015, four was the second largest producer of cars in the United States (only preceded by German motors) and it is the fifth largest in the world. Much of the company success is down to the ingenuity of the famous Henry Ford. Ford was already 39 years old when he created the company and even today it is still considered one of the largest family businesses in the world. Despite the company opening to several investors the family still retain a large stake in the organization and have several important voting and veto rights.
Despite experiencing a turbulent financial period during the recession Ford has returned its status to a successful commercial business full stop in 2010 board turned over a net profit of $6.6 billion. However, it still has a substantial debt but is gradually returning to a highly successful organization.
